About the role
As the Maintenance Planner/Method Supervisor at Alice & Bob, you are the architect of operational excellence for our complex cryogenic infrastructure. Your core mission is to meticulously translate advanced engineering designs into proven, repeatable procedures, ensuring the equipment's safe, reliable, and consistent performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for: Clean room equipment (HVAC, filtration systems, particle control), Cryostats and associated cryogenic infrastructure, Precision laboratory instruments, General building facilities (electrical, mechanical, structural)
- Coordinate work orders with internal teams and external service providers. Ensure minimal downtime by planning maintenance during optimal operational windows.
- Methods & Process Optimization: Establish and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintenance activities in high-containment and sensitive environments. Apply risk-based maintenance strategies following ISO 31000 principles. Integrate life cycle cost analysis for equipment upgrades and replacements.
- Ensure Compliance & Safety Management for ISO 14001 environmental management requirements, ISO 45001 occupational health and safety protocols; and ISO 50001 energy management optimization practices.
- Manage safety permits and enforce strict control of contamination risks in clean rooms. Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, and implement preventive measures in accordance with NEBOSH and internal safety policies.
- Asset & Resource Management: Maintain asset registers, equipment histories, and maintenance documentation. Manage spare parts inventory and procurement in collaboration with supply chain. Monitor contractor performance and ensure alignment with company standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze maintenance performance data to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities. Recommend and implement energy efficiency improvements for facility systems. Lead root cause analysis for equipment failures.
- Crisis & Contingency Readiness: Participate in facility emergency preparedness, especially regarding critical quantum computing infrastructure. Support crisis management drills and ensure maintenance teams are trained for emergency interventions
Requirements
- 5+ years in maintenance planning within high-tech, semiconductor, cryogenic, or clean room environments.
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, or related engineering discipline.
- Knowledge of maintenance planning tools (CMMS/EAM) Or MES, ISO management systems (14001, 45001, 50001) and Cryogenic systems and contamination control.
- Strong organizational and scheduling abilities
- Solid analytical problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Professional-level English proficiency, both written and spoken.
Relevant Certifications
- NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
- CMRT (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician) or equivalent
- Cleanroom Operations Certification
