Finance Analyst
FINBOURNE Technology
Accounting & Finance, IT
London, UK
Role Summary
We are looking for a newly qualified accountant to join our finance team. This is a broad, hands-on role that spans group accounting and financial planning & analysis. You will sit at the centre of the finance function — owning the group consolidation, supporting month-end and board reporting, and helping to build out FP&A capability as the company scales.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants exposure across the full breadth of a finance function in a high-growth technology business.
Why join?
- Breadth of role — you will not be pigeonholed into one area; this spans accounting, consolidation, FP&A, tax, and audit liaison
- Direct exposure to the CFO, board reporting, and strategic decision-making from day one
- A small, collaborative finance team where your contribution is visible and valued
- Clear progression path as the company and team continue to grow
Key Responsibilities
Group Consolidation & Reporting (c. 50%)
- Prepare the monthly group consolidation pack, including intercompany eliminations, foreign exchange adjustments, and consolidation journals across all FINBOURNE entities
- Prepare IFRS-compliant statutory reporting schedules and annual accounts workpapers for review by the Financial Controller
- Maintain the group chart of accounts and ensure consistent treatment of transactions across entities
- Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, preparing audit schedules and responding to queries
- Support year-end statutory close activities, including preparation of financial statement disclosures and supporting notes
Financial Planning & Analysis (c. 30%)
- Maintain and update the monthly management accounts and variance analysis for presentation to the CFO and board
- Support the annual budget and quarterly reforecast cycles — building models, gathering inputs from budget holders, and producing commentary on variances
- Prepare board-level reporting packs and KPI dashboards
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and commercial decision support as required by the senior finance team
Oversight & Team Support (c. 10%)
- Review the Accountant's work on bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and VAT returns, providing a quality assurance layer before sign-off by the Financial Controller
- Support the Accountant's development, particularly as they progress through their professional qualification
Ad Hoc & Projects (c. 10%)
- Opportunity to contribute to fundraising processes, including supporting financial due diligence, preparing investor reporting packs, and assisting with data room content
- Support international tax compliance workstreams and R&D tax credit claims
- Assist with share-based payment calculations (IFRS 2) and other technical accounting areas
- Contribute to systems and process improvement initiatives across the finance function
- Provide cover and support across any area of the finance team as needed
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Newly qualified ACA or ACCA (recently qualified or up to 2 years post-qualification)
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly IFRS (consolidation, revenue recognition, leases, share-based payments)
- Experience preparing group consolidations and statutory accounts
- Comfortable working with Excel at an advanced level
- Able to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet tight reporting deadlines
- Strong attention to detail with an ability to step back and see the bigger picture
Desirable
- Trained in audit at a Big Four or mid-tier practice
- Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency group structures
- Exposure to SaaS or technology sector accounting (IFRS 15, IAS 38)
- Experience with FP&A processes — budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
- Familiarity with iPlicit, Xero, or similar cloud accounting platforms
