The Incident Response Lead is a crucial position within our Cyber Defence team, responsible for ensuring that our incident response operations are executed with excellence and precision. This role requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity threats, a proactive mindset, and an ability to communicate complex technical issues to a non-technical audience.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Oversee the performance of incident response, ensuring consistent and high-quality outputs.

Develop, design, and ensure compliance with the team’s strategic vision, emphasizing continuous improvement.

Provide thought leadership within the Cyber Defence Leadership on incident response methodologies and best practices.

Lead cybersecurity incidents from identification to resolution, ensuring every threat is appropriately investigated, contained, and remediated.

Coordinate with the Security Monitoring and Cyber Threat Intelligence leads to gain insights on attack avenues and inform Cyber Threat Intelligence and CISO teams of strategies for minimizing attack surfaces.

Translate technical cybersecurity incidents into easily digestible reports, presentations, or updates suitable for executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders.

Act as the primary point of contact for high-impact incidents, delivering timely and clear updates to the Executive Committee and other critical stakeholders.

Maintain a deep understanding of the latest cyber threats, attacker methodologies, and trends as well as how to spot and stop them.

Foster a culture of learning and development within the team, ensuring that the team stays ahead of potential threats.

Essential Skills, Knowledge, Or Experience

(Inc. professional or technical qualifications)

Extensive experience in cybersecurity incident response or a related field.

Proven ability to lead teams effectively and drive high performance.

Strong understanding of the attacker mentality and methods.

Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex topics to a non-technical audience.
